Clubbox Download Tutorial
*Clubbox only works with IE and no other browsers.
*Turn off all firewalls and blockers if downloads do not work.
*Turn off your popup blocker as clubbox pops up the download page.
1. Open up a clubbox site.
*Note that if you do not have an account with Clubbox, then you can only access public clubboxes.
2. Check the files you are interested in and click download.

3. A pop-up window will appear.

Click download and a second popup will appear. This popup will either disappear and the files will be loaded into the clubbox software, or it stays still.

If it's the second, then right click on the page and select Korean (or any other) from Encoding.

*If you are a first time user, an active-x prompt will appear and you need to install this to be able to use clubbox. Follow the instructions and a new window will appear telling you to install the clubbox software. You will also need this and again follow the instructions (just like installing any other softwares).
4. The files will be loaded into clubbox. From there, if you want to start the download, click on the play button. If the file fails to load into the client, you may want to try opening the client first, so than when you try repeating the steps above, it should trigger the client to recognize the desired file.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Why is my download rate so slow when it should be about 200kB/s?
A: The download speed is capped at 50kB/s by clubbox, and is the maximum you download at unless you use mileage points. If you are getting less than 50kB/s and your normal rate is over that, then this is because a lot of people are grabbing the same file, or hogging the clubbox server. The clubbox client overcomes this problem by diverting it to PDBOX, which is also run by Nowcom, so that 'PDBOX BoxGame' takes over. This works by using people's own upload bandwidth, via 'fscagent' to send the file, rather than the servers. Also, if you are using a lot of your bandwidth, it will also affect the speed.
Q: My download stays at 0kB/s. What should I do?
A: Be patient and wait for a few minutes. If it still stays at 0, then try pausing and resuming. If that does not work, restart your computer and try again.
Q: Can I download more than one episodes?
A: No, you can't. You can only load them into clubbox and will be automatically queued. You can re-order the files in the queue, by using the up/down arrows, located towards the bottom left of the client.
Q: Is it possible to resume my download if I exit clubbox?
A: Yes, it is possible. To resume it, click/go to the same site with the file and download it again. Clubbox will resume the file from the point you left it (assuming you have not deleted the _CRCDATA_ file).
*Do not delete the _NEO_ and _CRCDATA_ if you want to resume.
Q: I've finished downloading a file from clubbox. How come it's not combining?
A: In this case, what is recommended is renaming the file that has the _NEO_ extension to the actual filename with the the proper extension (e.g. extensions should have *.avi, *.mkv, *.zip etc). Check to see if the file is intact and working. If so, you can safely delete the _CRCDATA_ which only keeps record of the missing data fragments it still needs as you were downloading. Obviously if the file is complete, this is no longer required.
Q: How do i uninstall clubbox?
A: Delete clubbox files in system folder:
* Window 98 or Window ME is c:\windows\system
* Window 2000 or Window XP is c:\windows\system32 or c:\winnt\system32
Look for and delete the following files: "Fscspy.sys" "FscAgent.exe" "Downengine.dll" "Clubbox.exe"
Clubbox Mileage/Quick Download FAQs
Q: What are Mileage Points?
A: Mileage Points are points which you can use to buy Quick Download coupons.
Q: How can I earn Mileage Points?
A: To earn Mileage Points, you'll need to have an account with clubbox and the software. For every hour you leave the software running with your account logged in, you'll earn 10points.
Q: What are Quick Download coupons?
A: These are coupons which can be used during download to speed up your downloads. The 50kB/s capped will be removed and you'll be able to download up to 300kB/s if your connection is that fast.
Q: How can I check my Mileage Points?
A: There are two ways to do this, one is through the clubbox website (after you have signed in) and another is through the software itself (make sure you are logged in). Your total Mileage Points will be your Total Mileage Points plus your current Reserved Mileage Points.
a) Through the website.

Q: What is 'Reserved Mileage'?
A: Reserved Mileage is the Mileage Points which you have accumulated within a given day. These points get added to you total mileage count at 1am Korean Time.
Q: How can I buy Quick Download coupons?
A: To buy Quick Download coupons, you must have suffiencient amount of Mileage Points. There are a lot of coupons to choose from and here's a list of them with details.
2GB coupon - needs 1,000pts - lasts for 5 days
5GB coupon - needs 2,000 pts - lasts for 10 days

In sentence, 2GB coupon gives you 2GB of quick download and it'll last for only 5 days. You'll need 1,000 mileage points to buy it. Now that you know about the coupons and how they work, we'll move on to the steps.
1. Assuming you have 1,000 points and you want to buy the 2GB coupon, there are two ways to do it.
a. Through the website. Open up any clubbox page and click on the mileage button.

b. Through the software. Open up the software, click on the mileage tab and then the 'tick' button.

2. You'll then be directed to this page. Since you want to buy the 2GB coupon, click on the button encircled in the picture below. Then click ok to confirm. To buy the others, click on their buttons but make sure you have enough points, else the button wont be able to work.

A: This is similar to downloading the files but instead on click the download button, you'll now click the quick download button. The download window will popup and you'll be able to choose which coupon you'll want to use if you have a lot of them. The rest will be the same as downloading normally.

2nd - have access to upload/download (aka Uploaders)
3rd - have access to download (aka Members)

This setting is useful if you want only certain members to upload to your clubbox. You should set those members to the 2nd category so they have uploading/downloading priveleges. Make sure you change your Access Settings afterwards, so that in the Upload Access Section, you only allow Uploaders to have access to upload.
6. Folders Settings

7. Box's Summary

To add images, background music, links to your clubbox starting page, you must add those html codes to your clubbox. You can do that by following this image:

You can request an additional 100GB of storage when your box requires additional space. You will see this button
during this time, allowing you to do so.Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: How do I make my folders' name bold or underline them?
A: Use HTML tags. To make the folders' name bold, use the <b> tag in front of the name. To underline them, use the <u> tag.
Q: How can I get a gold box?
A: To get a gold box, you will need 500+ points and an average amount of 50gb from your clubbox in the week leading up to your inspection date.
Q: Can I make more than one box?
A: Only one clubbox can be made per username. To make more clubboxes, then make additional username(s).
Q: Why did my box turn bronze?
A: The reason to this is because you did not maintain 100 points. To change back to silver, you'll have to get 100points in two weeks time. If you fail to do so, then you'll have another two weeks and so on. From what I heard, you can also click on an orange button below the display picture to change back, which is located somewhere near the file menu.
Q: How do I delete my clubbox since I have no more use for it?
A: To delete your box, visit the image under 'Intro Settings'. You will see which button you need to click.
Q: How do you calculate the box score?
A: The daily box score is calculated as such:
(Average daily downloaded amount for the last 7 days)/(Amount of space used) x 100. So for example, to work out today's score, then if the average daily d/l amount for last week was 100GB, and you used up 50GB of your allocated space atm, then it would work out to be 100/50 x 100 = 200 points. The average box score is the average of your daily box score for the past week (e.g. {(200 + 210 + 220 + 230 + 240 + 250 + 260) / 7 }= 230 weekly box score)
Clubbox Upload Tutorial
1. Open up your clubbox and click on upload.

2. Read the rules (but unfortunately you and I dont understand) and click OK. If you dont want this window to appear for a week, check the box below.

If you are helping someone, by uploading files to their clubbox, yet don't see this screen, it is likely the owner has blocked permission to upload. You should ask the owner to change the Access Settings to overcome this problem.
3. Select the folder to upload to, and browse or drag files into the box.

The files will then be loaded to the clubbox software and uploading will automatically start (default settings). If the files does not load into the software and a blank window stays, right click on it and select Korean (or any other) from Encoding, just like downloading.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Why does my upload rate differs, sometimes it's 20-30kB/s and sometimes it's 200-400kB/s?
A: This depends on your connection and also the files. If your ISP gives you a slow upload rate, then your upload rate will be slow. Regarding the files, if the file you are uploading exists in clubbox, then your upload rate will be fast, as it will attempt the retrieve fragments of the file from other users as well to its server. If the file does not yet exists, then your upload rate will typically range from 20-30kB/s (depending on your ISP upload cap rate).
Q: Why are my files being deleted or where did my files disappear to?
A: Your files will be deleted by clubbox if you do not meet the 10 downloads requirement. For the files to stay, the individual file must be downloaded 10 times or more within a 10 day time frame. If this condition is meet, the file will be extended by another 10 days. To check which file may be deleted, there is a button located just above the file folder index, to indicate which files will be deleted.
Q: Why can't I upload anymore?
A: One reason is because you've reached your limit of 100GB (if you have a silver box). Another reason is because you have a bronze box and this may limit you from uploading too (since you are sharing bandwidth space, 5TB worth, which is equal to 5120GB, within the bronze clubbox pool).
Q: Can I upload more than one file at a time
A: Yes, you can
6. Clubbox Membership Subscription
To join clubboxes requiring membership, please click on either button as shown here in red:

After this process, you will receive a popup confirming your request to subscribe, similiar to this:

Please note that by signing up to someone's clubbox does not automatically give you direct access to the files, or even browse the box for that matter. Some owners may manually grant you access, after you go through this process. This usually takes approximately 1-2 days. They may also set a quota to how many members they will accept, therefore may not accept any further members.

Some members may also pin protect their clubbox as seen above (due to a recent crackdown to remove illegal files, in particular movies and MBC dramas), in which case you require a 4 digit pin to access their clubbox. If you're fortunate, the owner may post you this pin via notices sent out to members, or PMs. If you get this pin via PM, it is advised not to share this with anyone else. In order to find this, you may require to search for this info, like so:

After you click this, you will see 3 distinct tabs

The first tab are the notices sent by clubbox owners usually informing you of updates to their members, the second tab are the PMs sent to you by the owners, and lastly the third tab are the stored messages that have been sent by you to the owners.
To unjoin the box, just follow similar steps as above and as seen here

You will be given a confirmation popup after this step, to confirm that you are unsubscribing.
Note that on this white button, the korean characters are different to the one you see when you join.
